Thursday Soju & Makgeolli Club
Every week, we host Soju & Makgeolli party!
Service Description
This tasting is an introduction to Korean alcohol culture, centred around its two most iconic drinks: Soju and Makgeolli. While Soju represents modern Korea’s most recognisable spirit, Makgeolli is Korea’s oldest alcoholic drink — a naturally fermented, cloudy rice wine traditionally made fresh and shared communally. At this event, you’ll taste Makgeolli brewed on-site, made fresh in-house using traditional methods, alongside a curated selection of traditional and premium Soju, which you can't taste anywhere else. No prior knowledge of Korean alcohol is needed. 🍶 What You can Taste - Fresh, house-brewed Makgeolli - Made on-site - Naturally fermented - Unfiltered & sparkling A guided tasting of Soju - From clean, modern styles to more characterful traditional expressions You’ll learn how these two drinks reflect the full spectrum of Korean drinking culture — from everyday social drinking to tradition and craftsmanship. 🌾 What Makes Our Makgeolli Special? Unlike most Makgeolli found from Korean grocery stores, the Makgeolli served here is: - Brewed fresh on-site - Unpasteurised, thus fresh - Naturally fermented - Made to be enjoyed young and lively This is Makgeolli as it’s meant to be tasted — alive, expressive, and social. If you enjoy natural wine, pét-nat, kombucha, or craft beer, this style will feel immediately familiar.
